SUCCESS! First Pekiti Tirsia Kali Singapore Seminar - 26-27 February 2011

Hi Everyone! I'm very thankful to all the 14 power packed participants of the first Pekiti Tirsia Kali Singapore (PTK SG) Seminar. Without their attendance this would not have been possible.

Many thanks to Jason Lopez for directing me to Guro Wendell Simbulan. And of course we thank you very much Guro Wendell for sharing with us the essence of Pekiti Tirsia Kali within that short space of time of 2 days. 

As the program director of Life Kinetix i personally love martial arts & fighting systems. Martial arts is an expression of human movement. To enjoy our martial arts our fitness must translate into the movement required in that art. Therefore i deem it an utmost necessity for us to work on our Functional Fitness to enjoy and perform better in our martial arts training.


I'm very glad that Life Kinetix has made this very potent combination of Functional Fitness with Pekiti Tirsia Kali.


We will be having regular training over Saturday afternoons at 3pm for this first core group of PTK practitioners.

We're still in the infancy stage of PTK SG. I look forward to more training sessions, seminars and get together sessions with Guro Wendell Simbulan and the Tribe of PTK SG!

The fundamentals of the PTK system-

 
     -Footwork, Body and Hand Movement
     -Baston strikes and drills, knife strikes and drills, empty hands strikes and drills (Tri-V Formula)

The Principles, Functions and Techniques-

Baston vs Baston
Kontradas (solo baston)
Tirsia and Pontadas (solo baston)
Knife vs Knife (Saksak and Pakal)
Hubad (knife stripping)
Knife Tapping (Knife vs Empty hands)
Dumpag (empty hand striking/elbow strikes)
Weapons Transition (from long blade to short blade to empty hands and
other edge and impact weapons)

 Seminar Instructor Manunudlo Wendel Simbulan  will be specially flying in from Manila!

PTK is a combative art. Basic techniques are learnt from handling the stick which represents the "bolo". PTK will begin from blunt edged impact weapons, to edged weapons, to open hand techniques. The video below will illustrate this:
